Karen Rogers Porter is a lifelong choir enthusiast. She has sung in various ward choirs beginning at the age of 10 and has sung in the BYU Women's Chorus, the Valparaiso Singers (Menlo Park, CA) and the Portland Mormon Choir. She has served as ward choir director three times, primary music director twice, ward choir accompanist too many times to count, and has directed a children's choir. She has sung under the baton of Craig Jessop, Mack Wilberg, Ronald Staheli, Jerrold Ottley and John Rutter.

Karen graduated with a M.M. in Piano Performance from Brigham Young University and has also studied choral conducting and Kodaly at the graduate level.  

She resides in the Portland, Oregon area with her husband and three young children.
